Caden’s Little Lullaby

Caden’s Little Lullaby

by Aunt Alice Jane-Marie Massa

NOTE: On September 25, 2015, the 132nd anniversary of the birth of my maternal grandmother, Grandma Store’s great-great-grandson marked his four-week birthday. Today, September 28, is the one-month birthday of my grand-nephew Caden James. For this happy occasion, I wrote the following lyrics for Eric and Marissa to sing to their growing baby boy. As you know from my previous writings, Lanie is my grand-niece and Caden’s big sister.

* * *

When Lanie says, “Nightie-night,

little brother, little dear,”

kisses for Caden

while Mommy holds you near.

Mommy and Daddy

will sing this for you–

Caden’s own lullaby:

our dreams have come true.

Caden’s little lullaby

with blessings for you.

Happy dreams to all,

Aunt Alice and Zoe

Post-script: Due to this special occasion, I am posting this week’s blog on Monday, rather than the usual Wednesday.
